May is Preservation Month

Updated: May 7, 2021

What are you doing to celebrate it?

The Delaware County Heritage Commission is having their Preservation Awards ceremony on Saturday, May 15 to celebrate both 2020 and 2021 award winners. The ceremony is by invitation only, but videos, photos and programs will be available on the Heritage Commission website after the event- https://bit.ly/DelcoHC

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has a new idea every day to help promote preservation. Over the next 31 days, take action to save, celebrate, and discover places that reflect the breadth of American history. https://savingplaces.org/stories/celebrate-preservation-month#.YJFahbVKjIU

Tours and open houses are starting soon. Email dchpn_planning@yahoo.com if you have open hours this summer to be put on the next E-blast. Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia is starting their architecture tours- check out the Events page for more details.

Thinking about the Janes Walk this year? Due to the pandemic, the Philadelphia Janes Walk is unable to host in person walking tours, but in the spirit of Janes Walk, will be doing a digital project collecting "postcards" from Philadelphians all over the city. A digital map of submissions will be posted on the Janes Walk website later this month. Have a place you love and would like to share? Just fill in this simple form with a photo and a short description on what makes it special. https://janeswalkphilly.typeform.com/to/pyio6YNo

Even though it says Philadelphia, you can add Delco sites to it.
