About DCHPN

DCHPN

One outcome of a Public History Study initiated by Delaware County Planning Department was the formation of the Delaware County Historic & Preservation Network (DCHPN).

This organization is a non-government/grassroots group with a steering committee consisting of representatives from historical societies, historical commission, and sites. The Delaware County Planning Department and the Heritage Commission participate in the steering committee.

Its mission is to provide support and advice, to coordinate communications, and to encourage personal contacts and build relationships among the 80+ historic and preservation organizations and their leaders in Delaware County.

Throughout the year, the DCHPN hosts lectures to provide technical assistance on a variety of topics. The Steering Committee uses the Public History Study as a guide on lecture topics and on what other projects they should pursue.

The Public History Study is available under Publications.
