Following up with a previous post about heartbombing (See January 23), at least two groups in the county did a heartbombing event. Other groups are hoping to do it later in the year, and hopefully we can get more next year to show that we love our historic sites. #IHeartSavingPlaces
Haverford Township Historical Society hosted an event at Nitre Hall/ Lawrence Cabin. Although there was a small turnout, it was with little notice, and hopefully next year there will be a better turnout. The valentines will be posted on a display board at the Heritage Festival in June and at open houses, and others will be encouraged to make more throughout the year.
The Friends of Woodburne in Darby Borough took the idea to a new level and combined it with the scarecrows that are normally found at OcTrolleyFest. The scarecrows were posted along Springfield Road so passersby could see that Woodburne Mansion is loved.
Have you done an event? Share it with us! Let's see if we can get more groups to participate next year (or throughout the year- it doesn't have to be just in February).
